The weekly Encounter

Your whole week becomes the fight.

You do not grind inside the app. Move in the real world, then return to see what the Party did with it.

  1. 01

    Move

Walks, runs, lifts, rides, and any workout logged to Apple Health build daily effort.

  2. 02

    Strike

Your effort becomes damage. If everyone reaches their Daily Goal, the Party earns a Team Bonus.

  3. 03

    Answer for the miss

Fall short and your damage still counts—but the Boss can recover, and History names who missed.

  4. 04

    Advance

Every Boss Result advances to the next Encounter. Defeating the Boss also raises the difficulty.

The social pressure engine

The app hands your group chat the receipt.

No public leaderboard. No strangers. Just the people who already know whether you went for that walk.

Friends-only by design. Parties are private, invite-only groups of up to 10 people.

Open. Read the field. Act if needed. Close.

The Cinderblade Encounter reveal with its story and weekly objective

A season worth finishing

Each week of a Season opens a new Encounter.

A Season is twelve distinct Boss fights, each with its own art, challenge, and place on the Party's shared track.

01

A clear weekly target

Meet the next Boss, read the stakes, then get back to moving in the real world.

02

Simple combat choices

Choose a Tactic and coordinate an optional Party Strategy with friends.

03

Progress everyone can see

Follow twelve Encounters on the Season Track and revisit each Boss Result in History.

Built around Apple Health

Your movement counts. Your privacy does too.

No Apple Watch required

iPhone steps work. Any workout written to Apple Health can contribute, including lifting, running, cycling, and classes.

Fair by default

Effort is normalized to your own usual activity and capped daily, so consistency matters more than raw athletic output.

No ads or data sales

Health access is read-only. Your Health data is used for game features—not advertising, tracking, or marketing.

Field notes

What is Swole & Shield?

Swole & Shield is a co-op fitness RPG for iPhone. You and a private group of friends turn real activity from Apple Health into damage against one shared weekly boss.

How does exercise become boss damage?

Steps and workouts from Apple Health build daily effort against your own usual activity. In final Results, that effort becomes Boss damage alongside your Tactic and the Party Strategy.

What is a Party?

A Party is a private, invite-only group of up to 10 friends. Each Party has its own weekly Boss, Season Track, Strategy, and Hero Levels.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Your iPhone's Apple Health data is enough. Watch owners may get better automatic workout logging, but no scoring advantage.

Can I play alone?

Technically, yes. The real game is the Party: small friend groups coordinating against one weekly Boss.

What if I get sick or travel?

Set Time Away in Settings. Covered misses will not help the Boss recover while you are away.

Is it pay-to-win?

No. Swole & Shield has no ads and no way to buy combat power. Purchases cannot change effort, damage, Boss recovery, stats, or rewards.
